Happy Thanksgiving!!

Happy Thanksgiving Canada!!

Hope you're all enjoying your turkey dinners and giving thanks! Wish I was there for dinner too, but today was great!

Got up nice and early for church (the Interns are expected to be at both services each Sunday), and got to church for 9am.

Worship was great! And the preach was fab! Today we started a new series "Who Is God?", today's teaching was about God as the creator, in the past, present and future - it was in great detail, and very interesting! You can check it out on www.kingsgateuk.com and there are tons of other great teachings on there too!!

In the second service, I was teaching the 'Sparklers' class, and turns out one of my helpers in the class was a good friend, so we had fun, and the kids at that age were just hilarious!! Thanks for all the prayers - it went really really well :) They've made me a regular teacher for that class now!

After church we mingled a bit in the atrium (foyer) before heading back into the auditorium to help stack chair for the Alpha meeting later on.

After all that, Kirsty and I headed off to join a bunch of the Young Adults (YA) for lunch at Jane's.

Then got invited to another YA mate's house for supper, turned out to be 5 of us for supper, and it was amazing! Lamb, roasted potatoes and shallots, honey baked carots, and homemade gravy, with a chocolate sponge pudding for dessert, and a fabulous shiraz to go with dinner!
We even went around and said what we were all thankful for (they made it "thanksgiving-ish" just for me) I love my friends :)
It was a really great time.

I don't miss Thanksgiving quite so much now!

Anyways, I'm back home now. Getting ready for bed, and preparing stuff for tomorrow. I will be working at the church for the morning, then have a driving lesson in the afternoon. So I'm excited for that!! Pray I learn quick!

Hope everyone's well! And enjoying family time!

Mum I wish I was there in the kitchen cooking turkey dinner with you! But Kerry's a fab cook and I'm sure you two will have a blast :)

Lots of love to everyone! I'm so thankful for all of you!

Weekend settling in...

Hey everyone!

Hope you're all enjoying your Thanksgiving weekend! I have to say, that's one of the things I don't understand about the UK, that they don't celebrate it AT ALL....*sniff*. Oh well, I think I can keep it together until Christmas. Ahem....anyways,

So I can't say that this weekend has been anything spectacular....Friday ended up being a day off, which was a gift from the Lord, because I was quite sick on Friday - I think I caught something from the plane air...yuck.
So I pretty much just slept-in, and then one of my best friends picked me up and we went to his house for lunch and cause his Mum was begging to see me. So we had tea. =P
Then we went out to Tesco, got some plugs, a binder, and some soup. Went back to his house to have soup, and listened to my playlist from Dana..(Thanks sista!!)
Was a good chill out day.

Friday night was "family night" in the house here, one of the girls went to Youth night at the church, and the rest of us, sat around in the livingroom, ate supper in there, and watched the Biggest Loser, and Everwood. Just what I needed.

----- -----

This morning (Saturday) was much like Friday....I slept in again, this time, waking up clear headed and not stuffed up! Praise the Lord! I think the cold has now passed...and I can feel like myself again. Although my ear is still not back to 100%. Keep praying for that.

But I did get a lot of work done today for the course. I am now probably 95% caught up! So that was a good feeling!

Tomorrow is church, and I will be teaching one of the Sunday school classes, so I prepared a bit for that too...praying that goes well. They are much bigger classes than at LOJ....but I'm sure I can handle it :)

I also spoke with a fellow from the church who teaches driving lessons. Very nice guy, the family knows him well, and recommended him. So I gave him a call, and I have a driving lesson with him on Monday afternoon. So I am hoping that goes well...and that I will be able to figure it out quickly and get myself mobile again! Lol.

Anyways, not much else to report apart from my super exciting day of being a bum around the house! =P

Hope everyone at home is doing well! I miss you all!

TTFN! Ta ta for now!! hehe. what can I say...I grew up with Winnie the Pooh! Blame my parents! Hahah. Jk.

Arrival!!!

Hello everyone,

I first of all have to say, that this will be my very first attempt at a blog! (So bare with me.)

Well, I made it! Safe and sound! And warmly welcomed at the airport by a good friend who drove me and all my very, very heavy suitcases to the house in Peterborough.

Got to the house around 3pm England time, and amazed myself by managing to unpack (everything!) in less than 30 mins!! I know! Amazing!
And then promptly crashed, and slept for about 2-3 hrs. before the rest of the household came home.

Woke up just before 6pm, had a bite to eat, and was off to a Young Adult Corporate Small Group at the church. Which was great! Heard about some of the outreach projects going on around the city, such as street ministry outside the clubs, public events in the city centre etc. Really exciting whats happening.

After getting lots of "welcome back" hugs and all that excitement, finally made it back home, and promptly fell asleep.

Woke up early Thursday morning, got ready and headed to the church for my first official day on the internship.

Thursday's class is one of the two teaching classes that we have (the first being Monday nights), which is from 12:30pm-5pm. We start off with about an hour of worship, prayer and devotions which is lead by one of us interns each week.
Yesterday was the 3rd class (my 1st), and was a great time of worship and prayer as a group.
Then Simon Deeks, one of the associate pastors taught a lesson on "Spirit, Soul, Body" and the differences between the three, and importance of the spirit being the dominant of the three.
Was very enlightening, I knew some things about the trinity of them, but Simon went on to explain that the difference between Christians and non-christians, is that we both have the Soul and Body that are very active, but for non-christians, there spirit is almost non-existent, or turned off in a way, or dead. But when we accept Christ and are born again, it's like our spirit also comes alive because Jesus is living in us. Very cool stuff! I could go on and on, but I think you get the idea :)

So after that lesson, another fellow who is one of the small group leaders in the church named Keith taught about the consequences of not reading the word on a daily basis....but it actually turned out to be mostly on the importance and benefits of reading the word. Because the word is from the Lord, therefore, when we spend time in the word, we're spending time with the Lord, which I had always thought of as kind of two separate things...and Keith went on to say how Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Light", and we can take that and apply it to the Bible, by reading the word, we can see the way, see the truth, and see the light.
What a great starting session eh!!

Hope that gives you a little taste of what I've jumped into! I'm loving every minute of it, soaking up as much as I can.

Anyways, my first day was great, had such a great time, didn't feel overwhelmed, thank you Jesus, and was great meeting the rest of the Interns :)

I should be signing off now, I meant to write this all last night, but I didn't have a plug adapter for my laptop, and without being plugged in, it went from full power to no power in less than 10 mins.
So my mission for today was sleeping in, and "PLUG ADAPTER!!" - which I easily found at Tesco. (Similar to like...WalMart or SuperStore, but waaaay better.) Now I'm all charged and ready to post this blog! My Mum will be happy now. hehe.

Well hope you liked my very first entry! Miss you all! Thanks for all the prayers and messages :) Keep praying!
Here's a couple little things I could use some prayer covering for:

-My ear hasn't popped yet from the flight - only about 50% hearing in my left ear.

-I've caught a bit of a cold, probably from the plane, and I'm very sniffly, so pray for full health!

-I will be learning to drive on the left this weekend..eeeek! Pray for peace, quick, easy learning....and safety on the roads!

-I'm teaching the 'Sparklers' class this Sunday at the 2nd service. (Sunday school class for ages 5-6). Pray for peace, and that I'll know what I'm doing! Haha.

Thanks everyone!!
